Hmmm. Interesting question. In an effort to make me blog more, I'd joined on the "Blog Once Per Week" project from wordpress.com. Simply put, I get emailed a topic to right about either daily, or with my busy schedule, once per week. So, the topic for this blog entry is the first I'm going to write about.
So, what would I tell myself 10 years ago.
- Be more patient with yourself, your family, and your friends
- No matter what, put all your money in Google stock
- Buy lots of Apple stock
- Take action sooner than later, because there is never enough time to do all the things you want to do
- Spend more time with your grandparents. They're not going to be around as long as you think.
- Material things are not as important as good friends and family. Never forget that.
- Remember to say the kind words you want to say to someone, as they really do matter
- If you have a crappy boss, or the corporate grind isn't making you happy, quit your job. Work should not be a prison....you can walk out any time you want.
- Be grateful for what you have and always try to remain humble even when you make more money or have more than your friends
- Don't compare yourself with others as you are a wonderful, unique person whose gifts and talents can be appreciated by all
- Take the vacations you want to take, don't just sit at home
- Get rid of things sooner than later. Clutter around the house isn't worth it
- Let people whom you thought were your friends go if they want to walk out of your life. Life is too short, and it's not worth the energy to keep a friend if you know you've done everything to make things right and it's still not enough
- Spend more for good sheets, good food, and donate more to charity. When you die, you can't take it with you
- Get more sleep
- Have more fun
- Laugh more
- Make your own choices more often and don't listen to all the opinions you might receive from others. You're smart and have good common sense. In the end, you're the one who will have to make the final decision.
- Be bold, daring, and go for it!
